You will shoot a roll of black-to-white film leading up to the class and process it the first week, then make prints the second week. Film, chemistry, and all supplies provided. All work done in our onsite darkroom

Using big cameras
Get up close with big cameras, both old and new. A hands-on introduction to large format photography, from 4x5 to mammoth cameras. Learn history, techniques, workflow, tripod handling, light metering, lens selection, camera movements, and available accessories. Take your first shots with a big camera!
Slow down, Shoot Film
An introduction (or re-introduction) to the world of film cameras, photography, and techniques. Reflect on why we shoot film. Learn about the myriad options for cameras, the magic of film, film types, processing options, what to look for when buying a camera, and other tips and tricks for making the most of your film experience.
Protecting and Preserving Your Treasured Images
Memories and artifacts fill our closets, bookcases, drawers, and attics. The task of organizing and preserving these records (especially photographs) can be daunting, but the effort is worth it. This class provides insights and tips on capturing, organizing, sharing, and preserving your treasured images.
